Customer Background

The customer produces pipeline anti-corrosion tapes and has requirements for the coating adhesion and wrapping flexibility of the base film.

The Problem

• Adhesion after coating was unstable, with localised bond failure
• The base film was too stiff for wrapping at low ambient temperature

What We Did

We adjusted the surface corona level of the base film to match the customer’s coating process and supplied a formulation direction with better flexibility to improve low-temperature wrapping performance.

Results

• Coating adhesion became more consistent
• Low-temperature wrapping performance improved
