Home textile brand: improving the washability of waterproof bed covers

Customer Background

The customer is a home textile brand whose waterproof bed covers must pass repeated domestic washing tests.

The Problem

• Bubbling and localised delamination appeared after several washes
• The hand feel was too stiff, affecting the product experience

What We Did

We replaced the TPU adhesive layer with a system having a higher hydrolysis-resistance grade and slightly reduced the film thickness to improve the hand feel. We also confirmed the washing test conditions with the customer and supported several rounds of wash validation.

Results

• The number of washes passed increased
• Hand feel improved, with positive end-customer feedback
